*Beginner’s Soft Launch
Beginners is a child’s first independent school experience and can set them up to be lifelong learners. This foundational class does present some challenges as it is often the first time children are away from caregivers. In order to make the transition smoother, both for students and parents, we start the school year with a slower approach. Study of early childhood development shows consistent rhythm is the most important, while time spent can be increased or decreased with less disruption. So for the first week of school students will be split into two groups and will alternate attending class for 1 hour and 10 minutes. They will go through all their normal routine in a short time. During the second week of class the two groups will be combined and attend from 8:40 until 10:10. They will adjust to longer time on each part of the day and an increase in classmates. After these first two weeks of transition, the students will be able to attend for the entire duration of class (8:40-11:20). More details of when your student will attend class will come out with their teacher letter over the summer.
